She lives and works in Marseille; she was born in 1997.
She graduated from the Marseille School of Fine Arts in 2024. In her paintings, Julie Chevassus creates a fictional universe—a sort of in-between world inspired by caves and the ocean floor, often composed of metal debris—in which humans and animals move about like castaways.
Through her paintings, we follow the story of these characters in strange settings that echo a distant past or a dystopian future.
She completed an extended residency in Shakers-Effervescence, exhibited at Galerie Prima in Parisand Galerie Ramand in Aix-en-Provence, and won the 2024 Clim’art Painting Prize.
