Dominika Troicka is a Polish-born photographer and visual artist based in Marseille. After completing a Master’s degree in Art and Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in Slavic Studies at the Sorbonne, she earned her photography certification from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles in 2021.

Dominika photographs intimacy, landscape, and reality with a gaze that is at times documentary, yet always sensual. Her images, built through sedimentations of texture and matter, reveal floating, colorful, and picturesque compositions consistently ambiguous and evocative.

Her practice explores transitions, temporalities, and spaces that create bridges. Immersing herself in specific places, she extracts their essential elements to give voice to the intelligence of matter itself. From 2021 to 2023, she developed SODIUM, a project focused on the unique landscape heritage of Salin-de-Giraud, questioning the boundaries between the natural and the artificial. In September 2023, she self-published a fanzine derived from this research.

The visual and dreamlike works comprising the WATER ME series, initiated in 2023, draw their form from the landscapes, textures, and colors of the French Riviera. Deeply material in nature, this project unfolds as a sensory narrative exploring our connection to the living world. The series was exhibited at Coco Velten in Marseille in 2023, then at GR1 in May 2025, as part of the PAC OFF Marseille program.

In parallel, Dominika Troicka regularly collaborates with the Centre Photographique Marseille on educational and outreach programs. She also leads workshops in schools and extracurricular settings. Raising awareness of art and visual culture, fostering participation, and engaging in co-creation with audiences are equally vital aspects of her practice, ones she pursues with great dedication and commitment.
